Frequently Asked Questions
Is coaching right for me?
Coaching can be particularly supportive when you want time to think clearly, reflect on what matters, and move forward with intention. It suits those who are willing to engage thoughtfully in the process and take responsibility for their decisions.
If you are unsure, an initial conversation is a good place to explore whether working together feels like the right fit.
Do you give advice or tell me what to do?
No. I do not offer advice or answers.
I work through guided conversation, careful questioning, and attentive listening, supporting clarity to emerge so you can make decisions you trust. You remain responsible for your choices and actions.
Is coaching the same as therapy?
No. Coaching is not therapy, counselling, mentoring, or treatment.
Coaching is a reflective, future-focused process that supports clear thinking and deliberate decision-making. Where a client’s needs would be better supported by therapy or another professional service, this would be named openly and responsibly.
How long do clients usually work with you?
This varies, depending on what brings you to coaching and how the work develops.
Some clients engage in short-term coaching around a specific decision or transition. Others choose to work more deeply over time. There is no assumed length or fixed pathway. As a general guide, a minimum of six sessions often provides a solid foundation for meaningful work.
How do sessions work?
Sessions are typically held online, or in person where geography allows.
Sessions are a minimum of 75 minutes. The first one or two sessions are often closer to 90 minutes, allowing time to establish focus and direction.
Initial sessions usually take place around a week to ten days apart. Thereafter, sessions are typically scheduled fortnightly. Timing is always discussed and agreed together, with flexibility where circumstances require. Sessions are not spaced more than a month apart, as regular contact supports clarity and depth.
Is coaching confidential?
Yes. All coaching conversations are confidential, within the professional and ethical boundaries of coaching practice.
Your privacy, autonomy, and emotional safety are central to my work.
